The Centro Internacional de Estudios Teatrales Espontáneo is a legally established organization that offers its students the opportunity to explore and develop their talents and abilities through various theatrical techniques, guided and supported by renowned national and international instructors. It provides genuine opportunities for connection with a diverse range of theatrical offerings worldwide, forming part of an active and ever-growing community. Participants have the chance to collaborate on projects with artists from different parts of the world and become part of an enduring artistic network.

Director
Gigio Giraldo
He has worked in various areas of theatrical practice, including acting, directing, pedagogy, cultural management, and performance research.
A graduate of the Actor Training School of Teatro Libre de Bogotá, he holds a specialization in Theatre Direction from the National Academy of Dramatic Arts “Silvio D’Amico” in Rome, Italy, where he also served as Cultural Attaché for the Latin American region.
A pioneer of the theatrical improvisation movement in Latin America, he has been a promoter, producer, and organizer of numerous festivals, gatherings, and artistic and academic initiatives dedicated to improvisational theatre.
He is the creator and director of the International Diploma in Theatrical Improvisation, a globally recognized program with more than 16 years of history.
He is also the author of the first Colombian book on the theory of theatrical improvisation, Canovaccio: Dramaturgy of Impro, published by Editorial Mulato, Bogotá, 2025.
With over 30 years of experience as an actor, director, and theater instructor, and as the author of the first Colombian work on the theory and practice of scenic improvisation, Canovaccio: Dramaturgy of Impro, he is recognized as one of the leading teachers in Latin America. He continues to teach workshops and seminars on theatrical improvisation and clowning around the world.
TEATRO R101
The center’s programs are held at Teatro R101, located in the beautiful Quinta Camacho neighborhood in Bogotá, Colombia, a privileged setting for any theatrical pedagogical process, as it offers the necessary capacity and optimal lighting and sound conditions for conducting each scheduled class.
